Things are looking up for the city of Vincennes; and city officials say that it’s only the beginning.
On Monday, Mayor Joe Yochum presented the State of the City Address during the Vincennes city council meeting; he says he’s been very happy with 2018.
There’s been a huge growth in business especially restaurant growth, employee health care insurance costs have been kept in balance and several local renovations are also underway.
Those include city hall and the restoration of the city’s main street.
He says he’s happy to see continued growth.
“I think at the end of this year, we’ll see some more positive numbers,” said Mayor Yochum. “You know with everybody working together and watching their dimes and pennies it’s really making a difference.”
Mayor Yochum also says he plans to meet with all the department heads in September.
They will talk about the city’s 2019 budget and get a jump-start on the upcoming year.
