TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Tuesday evening people came to the Terre Haute Bowling Center to raise money for a great cause.

The Vigo County Education Fund hosted its 9th annual “I Can’t Believe It’s Not a Gutter” benefit bowl event on Tuesday evening.

The funds raised are used to pay for about 1,200 Vigo County 1st graders to take a field trip to the Terre Haute Children’s Museum.

The VCEF covers the cost of admittance and the fees for bus transportation.

The left over funds are used for school wide projects.

A silent auction was also held during the event to raise money.

Jane Nichols, executive director for the Vigo County Education Fund, said “That may be the only opportunity that they have. So, that’s so exciting to see them leap off the bus and run in to take part in the exciting, hands-on learning opportunities.”
