692 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, IDPH reports


SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced Friday that 692 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Illinois.

The IDPH is also reporting an additional 44 confirmed deaths.

To date, 135,470 cases have been confirmed in Illinois and 6,580 people in the state have died from COVID-19. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.

Within the past 24 hours, IDPH says laboratories have reported 27,171 specimens for a total of 1,311,003.

The IDPH reports that the preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from June 12–June 18 is 3%.
