VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Three additional cases of COVID-19 in Vigo County were confirmed Saturday afternoon, bringing the total number of active cases in the county to six.
The additional cases were reported on the Vigo County Health Department website, which is accessible by clicking HERE.
According to Joni Wise, administrator for the Vigo County Health Department, two of the three new cases were reported Saturday morning and one Saturday afternoon.
Wise said the health department is working to reach people who may have been in contact with the three new patients.
One positive posthumous test for coronavirus in Vigo County was revealed Friday, which makes seven the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in the county as of Saturday evening.
Wise said of the six patients in Vigo County, four are in self-quarantine and two are in the hospital.
The state of Indiana released data Saturday morning that 1,232 cases were confirmed in Indiana. That number did not reflect the increase in Vigo County cases or the newly confirmed cases in Greene and Clay counties.
