TERRE HAUTE Ind. (WAWV/WTWO)- The Vigo County Public Library offers 3-d printing to the public, and it’s free!
Library officials said after some brief training on how to use the printers, and an approved designed, residents are able to use the printers at no cost.
Assistant technician Angelina Melcho said after some math each design with supplies totaled under a dollar, so the library waives any charges to use the machines. She said this allows for equal opportunity to use the printers.
Tech manager Bonnie McNair said they are thrilled to serve all ages and to be able to make so many different items with just a design.
She said the only restrictions is a class must be taken at the library on how to use the printers, it must fit on a 12x12x12 platform and the design needs to be submitted prior to coming in to print.
Library officials said each design well take a couple of days due to their business hours and the need for staff to be present during the printing.
