2 charged after attempting to steal from two stores in Vermillion Co.


VERMILLION Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office said two people are charged after stealing from a store in Clinton.

They said Tyler Nash and Adrian Amos, both of Danville, Illinois took more than $2,100 worth of merchandise from Tractor Supply.

The sheriff said the two also attempted to steal over $1,400 worth of merchandise from the Clinton Wal-mart, but were unsuccessful.

According to officials, Wal-Mart employees shared information with Tractor Supply, which is next door to their store, and were able to identify the suspects before contacting deputies.

Sheriff’s deputies were able to stop and detain both suspects before they left Tractor Supply property.

They said one suspect tried using an invalid credit card while the other loaded the items into a vehicle.

All items were returned to Tractor Supply.

Both are charged with felony theft and are being held at the Vermillion County Jail on $10,000 bond each.

According to the sheriff, Nash is also wanted in Tippecanoe County, Indiana on misdemeanor charges and will be held on their warrant.

Officials said the arrest is linked to multiple thefts in surrounding counties and in Illinois.
