12 Points Revitalization Initiative hosts Community Cleaning Day

TERRE HAUTE, Ind., (WTWO/WAWV) — The 12 Points Revitalization Initiative kicked off their Community Clean Project for 2020.

The group meets on the third Saturday of each month to pick up trash and litter around Terre Haute.

Schelia Romanelly, the group’s committee chair, said it’s important for them to be the change in the community that they’d like to see.

“We do this because we care about our community…It doesn’t do any good to complain. You just need to get involved and i love the proverb, it takes a village to raise a child. It takes a community to keep a city clean. So one community at a time and we can do this,” said Romanelly.

The group partnered with other community organizations like Keep Terre Haute Beautiful and the Society of Trash Baggers.
