Technology Matters-Who’s Listening?

Technology Matters

Some Amazon employees listen to your Alexa recordings.

You can manually delete your Alexa recordings.

Go to Menu Settings and tap Alexa Privacy. Then tap How Your Data Improves Alexa. Turn off the toggle next to Help Improve Amazon Services and Develop New Features.

You can also delete through the Alexa app or Amazon website, including older stuff. (Google) (Apple)

The recordings are used to help develop new Alexa features.

Apple and Google have already suspended their human review programs of customer voice recordings.

One Alexa feature to look for in the coming months is the ability to book your date night.

Alexa may very soon be able buy your movie tickets and reserve a table at your favorite restaurant.

Amazon working with companies like Atom Tickets, Uber and Opentable to make Alexa more versatile.

More Amazon. A North Carolina man surprised his Amazon-loving wife with this. A cake that looks like an Amazon Prime package. No word if it tasted like cake or cardboard.

Verizon out with four new unlimited plans. You can keep your current plan or switch.

All four offering a 5-dollar discount. For a limited time Verizon is waiving the 5G fee for top tier options.

Verizon is expected to have 5G service in 30 cities by the end of the year. Terre Haute next year? I hope.

Google hyping it’s new Pixel 4, expected out in October.

You can control the phone without touching it using hand gestures.

“Face Unlock” to open the phone…similar to Apple’s Face ID. “Motion Sense” lets you skip songs in an app by swiping in air…a radar technology called “soli.”
