LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Greene County General Hospital in Linton, Indiana and Crawford Memorial in Robinson, Illinois will both suspend all visitations until further notice.
Greene County Memorial noted there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Greene County; however the precaution is being taken due to growing statewide concerns.
“As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we are working closely with the local Health Department to evaluate the situation frequently and are updating restrictions as advised by the Health Department, the Center for Disease Control and the Indiana State Department of Health,” the hospital said in a written statement.”
Crawford Memorial will allow exceptions for caregivers ages 16 or older who are assisting patients.
The lab at the Robinson Rural Health Clinic will also be closed. Patients who typically use this lab should go to the lab inside the hospital.
In addition to suspending visitation, all patients at both hospitals will be screened for coronavirus, with healthcare providers asking a series of additional questions.
Anyone with symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath should call their doctor or hospital before seeking treatment.
