COVID-19 in Indiana: More than 2,900 new cases reported Tuesday

INDIANAPOLIS — Tuesday, the Indiana State Department of Health announced 2,951 new Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the state to a total of 188,066 known coronavirus cases following a correction to Monday’s dashboard.

50 more people are known to have died from COVID-19, bringing the number of deaths to 4,199. Another 240 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom there is no positive test on record. Deaths are reported based on when data is received by the state and is occurred over multiple days.

Vigo County has three new deaths reported. Vermillion County has one new death and Clay County also has one new death.

To date, 1,733,575 different individuals have been tested in Indiana. That is up from 11,722,842 tests reported on Monday. A total of 2,995,343, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported by the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
