Fear is something 19 year old Paige Lett understands. From middle through high school she was bullied.
“She actually got in my car and just cried the whole way home,” said Paige’s mother, Brandy Lett-Hunter. “She got put in a locker you know and people calling her names and doing mean mean things to her.”
“It was hard, said Paige Lett. ” For a long time to overcome that and the anxiety and depression that come with that are very hard to deal with.”
Paige did overcome her challenges by channeling that negativity into something creative.
“I found a way to express myself through poetry and through my writing.”
Through her poetry she was able to heal.
“I want them to know that the pain and the sadness and all of that is what makes you, and that really is very possible to heal. I’ve heal through the pages.”
And her message can be found inside of these pages.
“The main reason that I wrote this book because I am a very firm believer in you know healing, and the process of healing and that’s what this book was for me.”
Wildflower Soul is special for many reasons. Not only was it therapeutic for her to write, but its her first published book.
“It’s been a dream of mine for a long time.”
It may feel like a long time coming for Paige but this young author has arrived, and has plenty to say.
“Kindness goes a long way. Be nice to everybody because you never know what they’re going through and definitely don’t give up. If you ever think that you’re not worth something. That’s not true. You’re made to do amazing things. Everything will be ok in the end. If it’s not, okay, it’s not the end.”
Paige also has written a novel, and for more information click here.
