Tom’s Apple Pie

Good Day Live

Tom McClanahan’s Apple Pie

Six cups of apples (6-8 apples)

Two- Pie Crust

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup packed light brown sugar

2 tablespoons flour

1/2 to 1 teaspoon cinnamon

dash of nutmeg

2 tablespoons butter or spray butter (better coverage)

Preheat over to 400 degrees

Peel, core and cut about six cups of apples….anywhere from 6 to 8 apples dependent on size. Set aside

Coat the apples with the combined dry ingredients until they are evenly coated.  Pour into unbaked crust.  Top with the butter or spray the mixture with butter. Cover with the second crust, flute the edges and cut slits in the top crust.  An option is to spray the top with spray butter or spray shortening and lightly cover with a sugar/cinnamon mixture.
Bake for about 45 minutes.  Should be nice and golden brown.

You can cool or serve warm with a little ice cream and you’ll enjoy!
