He received three years probation and was ordered to undergo counseling.

Five years after fleeing to Canada while facing felony vandalism charges in California, actor Randy Quaid was back in the United States and in custody in early October 2015. The star of "Kingpin" and "Independence Day" was arrested along with his wife, Evi, as they were trying to cross from Quebec into Vermont, authorities said. The couple sought asylum in Canada in 2010 because they feared "Hollywood star whackers" were after them. A judge later released them after determining there was no probable cause for their detention.

Oscar-nominated actor and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Sam Shepard was arrested May 25, 2015, on suspicion of drunken driving in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Rapper Flavor Flav, born William Drayton Jr., is seen in a police booking photo after his arrest on charges including DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of an open container of alcohol, speeding, and driving with a suspended license and registration on May 21, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dustin Diamond, best known for playing the nerdy "Screech" on "Saved by the Bell," was arrested on Dec. 26, 2014, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, after a bar altercation also involving his fiancee Amanda Schutz in which a man was stabbed. He was eventually found guilty of disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon and served three months in jail in early 2016.

Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, turned himself in on Aug. 19, 2014, to be booked and have his mug shot taken at the Travis County Justice Center after being indicted on two felony counts of abuse of power, which he called "baseless political charges." Perry was cleared of all charges in February 2016.

On Jan. 23, 2014, singer Justin Bieber was charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving without a valid license after police saw the pop star street racing, Miami Beach, Fla., police said.
