We caught up with Kellie Pickler this summer at CMA Fest right before her show at Riverfront and while she was in the middle of taping her new reality show that launches November 5th on CMT called I Love Kellie Pickler.
“We are happy to be part of the CMT family and uh yeah, we got a lot of fun little crazy things planned this summer. I’ll get myself in a little shenanigans and bless my husbands heart he never knows what I’m going to do or bring home next. I don’t know if he is going to be particularity happy about what’s to come. He’s standing over there I don’t want him to hear but I’m getting chickens. At the house no way we’re in green hills you know we’re not on a farm. So wer’e trying I grew up in the country so I’m trying to bring the country to me.”
Kellie continues to bring country to her fans with her music working on her next album now. Her new single this summer was Feeling Tonight, a song she co-produced with her husband and their friend, Matt McClure.
“It’s a fun good summer feel good song. You know now me I’m all about having a good time and I want to make people smile and feel good so it’s one of those where you get in the car roll the windows down and just cruise and feel so good.”
What feels good to Kellie Pickler is helping others. Kellie was awarded the Chris Kyle award for patriotism this year for her work with the USO and Wounded Warriors. Humble in her words, she accepted the award with tears and hugs.
“This is about every service man and woman serving all over the world, every veteran every one that has ever had a loved one that served it’s about them. I just happened to be the vehicle to get in the door and say hey look at what there guys and girls are doing. Its what they do that enables us to do what we love.”
Chris Kyle’s parents were so moved by what Kellie is doing and are big fans. “Kellie Picker is living a dream and now sharing the reality of each moment. She’s the real deal.”
“I’ve been so blessed to be able to have my dreams become reality. And you know be able to meet people that inspired me to even be able to be up here on this stage. I’m blessed. I’ve met some incredible men and women in the military and hope to always be a part of this Nashville family and the country music family.”
I Love Kellie Pickler debuts tomorrow night, November 5th on CMT.
