Vigo County Courthouse lifts mask mandate for fully vaccinated individuals

Coronavirus

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Vigo County Superior Court Judges on Tuesday issued an order lifting the mask mandate at the courthouse for anyone who is fully vaccinated.

The order specifies that “persons who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as defined by the CDC may enter and occupy public spaces at the Courthouses in Vigo County without wearing a face covering.” The CDC defines a “fully vaccinated” as being two weeks after receiving the second dose of a two-dose vaccine series or two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine.

Anyone who is not fully vaccinated will still be required to wear a face covering “which completely covers the wearer’s nose and mouth” in all areas of the courthouse. An exception will be made for anyone who provides documentation that he or she is unable, for medical reasons, to wear a face covering.

According to the order, anyone who is not fully vaccinated and is not wearing a face covering will be offered a disposable mask at the security screening checkpoint. Anyone who refuses to wear a face covering will be denied entry to the courthouse.
