Jen Thompson was born and raised in the great state of Indiana. As a young child, Jen dreamed of being a news reporter. Equipped with her own VHS camcorder handed down from a neighbor, Jen, created news stories from her bedroom — way before YouTube was a thing!

Jen attended Noblesville High School where she served as an anchor on the schools broadcasted morning announcements which was aired on a local cable television station.

Equipped with a passion for telling stories, Jen made her way to the Wabash Valley to pursue a degree at Indiana State University. During her time at ISU, Jen anchored for Sycamore Video and took an independent study where she worked with a group of students to create a full feature length film. Jen graduated from Indiana State in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Radio/TV/Film with a concentration in journalism.

While at ISU, Jen met her husband, Zach. They reside in Sullivan County where they are raising five kids, four sons and one daughter.

Jen spent the early days of motherhood at home raising her children, another dream of hers. While her children were young, Jen started her own business as a professional photographer. She has spent the last ten years telling stories through her photographs and continues to do so.

Getting back to her childhood dream, Jen started at WTWO in January of 2023 as a multimedia journalist. Jen is excited to get back to doing the work that fueled her passion and to take this moment to show her kids that it’s never too late to be what you might have been.

When Jen isn’t working, you can find her cheering on her kids in all their extracurricular activities, planning her families next vacation or volunteering in her community.
