TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Terre Haute residents can dispose of unwanted items and trash as part of a single-day city-wide cleanup Saturday.

The spring cleanup is set for May 7. running for three hours from 8 a.m. to noon.

Those wishing to volunteer can join a group meeting at the former Terre Haute Police Department at 105 S. 13th Street at 8 a.m.. Volunteers will be given a route map, gloves, trash bags, and some snacks.

Businesses, churches, schools and other organizations are encouraged to host group cleanup events.

Note: Hazardous waste, including but not limited to refrigeration units, chemicals, tires and batteries, will not be taken. Dumpsters will be located at the old police department building.
