For almost 50 years, Paris Community Hospital has served Edgar County, IL residents and those living in surrounding communities.
During the last five decades, it’s spawned clinics and even an ambulance service.
This month, a name change will help show all the facilities are linked.
Paris Community Hospital opened its doors back in 1970 and works everyday to serve members of the community.
Ollie Smith CEO Horizon Health, “Our focus is to continue to grow and provide what we need.”
Over the years, it has grown.
Since, it’s now so much more than just a hospital, a decision was made to rebrand the name from Paris Community Hospital Family Medical Center to Horizon Health.
Horizon Health locations will include Paris Community Hospital, Paris Clinic, Chrisman Clinic, Pakland Clinic and E-Z Care and Senior Care, as well as, an ambulance service.
Despite the change, the hospital’s CEO says you can still expect the same quality of care.
Ollie Smith, “We are going to be the same as far as our service lines and people are going to be the same. They’re all very good dedicated people.”
And you will see the expansion of services continue. Right now, construction on a dialysis center is underway and the O-R is growing. Work is being done to expand cardiac care.
There’s also the new E-Z Care clinic building that will open soon.
Erin Frank PR & Marketing Manager, “We are almost done with our walk in clinic which is on the south end of town near the industrial park.”
Ollie Smith, “Anything we can do that Community supports we want to do to the best of our ability.”
Those in charge of the hospital and clinics want to make sure people know they were not purchased by anyone.
Instead, the name change is just to encompass the growth of all of the medical facilities.
