Marshall pastor making free DVDs for all graduating seniors

MARSHALL, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – A Marshall man is making free DVDs for all graduating seniors of Marshall High School due to the unprecedented outbreak of the COVID-19 virus.

Each year, families fill the gymnasium to watch the End of Year DVD that’s played on the big screen before the start of the graduation ceremony. While commencement this year might be a little different, Pastor Paul Cooper of Marshall Baptist Church, hopes to keep it as normal as possible for those taking their next steps.

Pastor Paul has been helping to create the DVDs for over five years but this will be his first year taking on the project alone. The DVD itself is usually sold by the school along with yearbooks at the end of each year and features photos over time of every graduating senior in addition to the sports and special events that took place that year.

“Usually I try to keep it shorter, but because it’s been such a hard year, I just want to make sure that it’s the best it’s ever been,” said Cooper.

The process has only just started but Pastor Paul is asking all families in Marshall of high school seniors to send him photos to include in the video. Donations for the project are appreciated but no matter what, every senior at Marshall High School will be receiving a DVD this year.
