PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Golfers, grab your clubs and balls, it’s just about time for the 18th annual Andy Hogan Memorial Golf Outing.

The outing is set for Saturday, June 4 at 12:30 p.m. at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Paris.

The memorial began in 2004 by friends of the late Andy Hogan who died unexpectedly from diabetes complications. To help cope with his loss the friends decided to start an annual golf outing with proceeds benefitting Edgar County diabetics in need of assistance.

Proceeds benefit residents of Edgar County that are facing financial difficulties by providing medications, supplies, dilated eye exams, and educational materials. The organization also sponsors diabetic children to attend the American Diabetes Association’s summer camp.

The cost to golf, which includes a green fee, lunch, golf cart rental, beverages, and prizes is $65.

Hole sponsorships are available for $100. Raffle tickets to potentially win a beautiful opal and diamond ring valued at $5,999 are $10 each. The ring was donated by Jami Taylor of Westbrooke Jewelers.

Call Leighsa Cornwell at 217-466-4228 for more information, to donate, or register for this outing.
