West Vigo Students Providing Baskets of Cheer

Students at West Vigo High School are giving back to the community. It's called the Baskets of Cheer program. Members of the FCCLA are collecting everyday essentials, like soap and shampoo, putting them in a basket with a Christmas card, and then giving them to elderly people. There's still time for you to take part. Just drop any items or monetary donations off at West Vigo High School by the end of the school day on Friday.

It's called the Baskets of Cheer program.

Members of the FCCLA are collecting everyday essentials, like soap and shampoo, putting them in a basket with a Christmas card, and then giving them to elderly people who might not be able to afford those things.

This is the second year for the baskets of cheer, and they hope to top last's year total of 150 baskets.

Here's what members of West Vigo's FCCLA have to say:

"Other schools have donated money or donated things to us so were getting a lot more people involved this year."

"It's vital that we do this so that there's somebody helping the community. Because there's always people in need and were there to fill that need."

"Baskets of cheer is very inspiring to see everyone give and I encourage everybody to help."

There's still time for you to take part.

Just drop any items or monetary donations off at West Vigo High School by the end of the school day on Friday.
