Vigo Co. Tox Away Day Coming Up

Vigo County residents can throw away toxic materials at Saturday's Tox Away Day at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.
Vigo County and the city of Terre Haute are giving residents the chance to get rid of any toxic materials.
 
"Tox Away Day" allows anyone living within the county to properly dispose of any hazardous chemicals that aren't accepted in weekly trash pick-up. Residents just pull up in their vehicles and drop their items off.

Tox away day is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.
Those wishing to dispose items must show I.D. for proof of residency.

Accepted Items:
Oil-Based Paint, Stains, Varnishes, Thinners, Preservatives, Glues/Adhesives, Pesticides, Herbicides, Pool Chemicals, Fertilizers, Insecticides, Engine Cleaners, Pet Care Products, Deodorizers, Disinfectants, Drain/Oven Cleaners, Turpentine, Polishes, Aerosol Cans, Degreasers, Fungicides, Gasoline, Photography Chemicals, Mercury, Fluorescent Bulbs, Refrigerators, Air Conditioners, Dehumidifiers, Freezers, Washers/Dryers, Water Heaters, Stoves, Anti-Freeze, Motor Oil, Oil Filters

Non-Accepted Items:
Latex Paint, Batteries, Fire Extinguishers, Industrial Waste, Smoke Detectors, Agribusiness, Tires, Commercial Waste, Gas Cylinders
