Union Hospital Receives Governors Award

Union Hospital in Terre Haute has won the Platinum Governors Award for Excellence.  Officials say its great honor and they hope it shows their commitment to the community.
A Valley hospital is getting some high praise.

Union Hospital in Terre Haute has one the Platinum Governors Award for Excellence.
   
Only ten hospitals in Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia were selected for the honor.
   
They were all evaluated in seven different categories including leadership and strategic planning.
   
Officials say its great honor and they hope it shows their commitment to the community.

"Validates our hard work, and validates that we are doing some things correctly and that we can serve as a role model for others. But I think it most importantly tells our customers that this is a good organization and we really work hard doing the best for them," said Jeanette Spradlin, Vice President of Quality at Union Hospital.

Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes was also chosen as Platinum Governors Award recipient.
