The agency is looking to hire four deputies.

To be considered, you must be at least 21 years old and live or willing to move within a 25-minute drive of the Vigo County Sheriff's Department.

Officials say it's the first step toward a rewarding career.

"There are a lot of different avenues, a lot of different fields that an individual can work for with our Sheriff's Department. We have not only patrol, but we also have criminal investigation, we have K-9, we had training officers, we can work in the schools. There are a lot of different types of unique experiences that you can get here at the Vigo County Sheriff's Department," said Chief Deputy Clark Cottom.

No prior law enforcement experience is required. The base salary is just under $44,000/year.
