Two wanted men arrested after routine check

Two Vigo County men are behind bars in Putnam County after they were discovered to be wanted during a routine disabled vehicle check along I-70.

An Indiana State trooper checking on a disabled driver came back with a couple of wanted men.

Douglas Allsup Sr., 37, West Terre Haute, and Larry Farley Jr., 18, Terre Haute, are now behind bars.

Indiana State Police say that a trooper stopped to check on a disabled utility van around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon on I-70 westbound near the 43 mile marker. It turns out the van just ran out of gas, but the trooper discovered that Allsup and Farley, passengers in the van, were wanted on drug charges.

Allsup was wanted on a Vigo County warrant for possession of meth and a Marion County warrant for parole violation. Farley was wanted on Owen County warrants for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

They're held in the Putnam County Jail.
