Two Planes Set On Fire At Edgar County Airport

Police in Edgar County, Illinois are trying to find out who set two planes on fire at the county airport Monday night. The planes were allegedly owned by a company, Venezia Marine, that also owned a plane involved in a fatal crash at the airport in August.
Police in Edgar County, Illinois are trying to find out who destroyed two aircraft at the county airport Monday night.

A fire was reported there. When airport officials arrived, two planes had been badly damaged by fire which had been intentionally set.

A nearby building escaped damaged. The blaze was confined to the two turbo-prop aircraft.

The planes were allegedly owned by a company, Venezia Marine, that also owned a plane involved in a fatal crash at the airport in August.

The State Fire Marshal has examined the damaged planes. The Edgar County Sheriff's Office is heading up the investigation and will be joined by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
