Thousands accepted into Healthy Indiana Plan

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration has announced that 3,400 Hoosiers who had been on the Healthy Indiana Plan wait list have been invited to enroll in the affordable insurance program.

Good news for Hoosiers who've been on the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) wait list.

The group that administers the state's affordable health insurance program, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), says they're adding everyone on the wait list that's eligible.

The plan's eligibility requirements changed recently to only include Hoosiers with incomes at or below the poverty level.

At the time there were 50,000 on the wait list. Of the 5,000 who reapplied under the new requirements, 3,400 of those are being invited to enroll.

HIP still has 17,000 openings. For more information, visit the HIP website.
