The Terre Haute South girls soccer team paid tribute to a teammate who died earlier this week.
Players made t-shirts bearing the number of the girl as well as arm and leg bands with her number.
Before the game at Terre Haute North, the teams joined hands in the middle of the field to honor the girl.
Players of Terre Haute South say they chose to play today despite their heavy hearts because they know it would bring her happiness.
"It just means a lot because I know she would want us to continue on," said Terre Haute South soccer player Lauren Awe. "She wouldn't want us to be sad about it and she definitely would want us to come out here and try our best and just pull out a win for her."
Terre Haute North beat South with a final score of 5-0.
