Terre Haute Mayor Elected 1st VP of IACT

The goal of the organization is to support city officials and represent their interests before state and federal representatives.
Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett now holds another elected position.

He was recently elected 1st Vice President of the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns.

The organization has more than 500 members.

Its goal is to support city officials and represent their interests before state and federal representatives.

Mayor Bennett says his new post will make Terre Haute even more visible.

"I think it's good for us. We get a little bit of recognition. It's really good that Terre Haute is on the radar screen. A lot of things have happened over the last few years that have put us up there in front of people," Mayor Bennett said.

He'll officially take office at the beginning of next year.
