Suspects Sought in Weekend Abduction

A Vigo County teenager tells police two men took her from her home and dropped her off within a mile of the abduction.
Police in Vigo County are looking for two suspects after a 15-year-old female told them she was abducted Sunday.

The female says she answered the door to what looked to be a delivery man with a package. After stepping outside, the man tried grabbing. The female then retreated back inside the house and the man followed.

She then says she ran back outside where a second male suspect with a knife approached her. Both men forced her into a van described as a burgundy cargo style minivan. Police believe it may be a Chevrolet Astro cargo van. The female also thinks she saw white writing including a large "K".

The men dropped the 15-year-old off within a mile of her home. She tells police she then received a ride back to her house from a passerby.

She describes the first suspect as a white male, about 5'8", in his mid 20's to early 30's and has a brown goatee.

The second suspect is also a white male, 5'8" to 5'10", in his mid 20's to early 30's and has a medium length curly brown hair.

The female was taken to Regional Hospital where she was treated and released.

Police searched a residential area off Harlan Road near Hoosier Prairie Elementary School for the suspects.

Chief Deputy Cottom said the two males suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

If you have any information about the two suspects or the van, call the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office at 812-462-3226 or anonymously at 812-238-STOP.
