Rose-Hulman's PRISM Program Awarded $950,000 Grant

The Portal Resource for Indiana Science and Mathematics -- or PRISM - provides educators with state of the art digital learning tools. This summer, teachers are taking part in a STEM education workshop for the Vigo County middle schools. That's just part of what the $950,000 Lilly Endowment supports.
A nearly $1 million grant is supporting a Rose-Hulman initiative that's now in its tenth year.

The Portal Resource for Indiana Science and Mathematics -- or PRISM - provides educators with state of the art digital learning tools.

That helps those teachers educate students to meet growing workforce demands in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fields.

This summer, teachers are taking part in a STEM education workshop for the Vigo County middle schools.

That's just part of what the $950,000 Lilly Endowment supports.

"And we really are not interested in increasing their workload, we're really interested in showing them how to do things that are more impact at maybe even an easier level. So certainly the digital technologies are doing that for people," said Patricia Carlson, director of the PRISM program.

Lilly Endowments are PRISM's primary source of funding, contributing nearly $3.7 million over the past decade.
