Pioneer Days Preparations Underway

The event gives people the chance to step back in time and see how people lived in 1840s.
Setup for Pioneer Days at Fowler Park, in Vigo County, is underway.

The event kicks off on Saturday.

It gives people the chance to step back in time and see how people lived in 1840s.

The two day event will feature tours through a log cabin, barn, smokehouse, covered bridge and a gristmil.

More than 100 "village folk" will be on hand to bring to help re-create life in the 1800s.

"We have a good time at it. It's interesting how people lived back then and demon started the things they had to go through. It was a rough life, it wasn't easy," Jay Tapy a volunteer at the event said.

Admission is free.

Parking at Fowler Park is $5 per car.
