Catholic Charities received a sizable donation Wednesday.

The organization was presented with a $5,000 check.

Those funds were raised as part of the "Orange Friday" fundraiser last month.

That event is sponsored by the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of the Wabash Valley.

It's a donation catholic charities says it can stretch pretty far.

"We're able to purchase about five Pindar of food for every dollar collected, so multiplying five thousand dollars by five will allow us to access about 25,000 pounds of food," John Etling, Agency Director of Catholic Charities said.

Etling agreed to dye his hair orange if the group met their $5,000 goal.

He'll make good on that bet Wednesday evening.
