Old 38 Tower Comes Down

Former WIIL, WBAK and WFXW tower demolished. Structural problems led to decision to bring it down. Precision Communication Incorporated "pulled" the 1000 foot structure to the ground.

For the first time in a long time if you're driving north on 41 nearing Farmersburg you'll only see two tv towers.

This afternoon the former tower for the original Channel 38 and then Fox 38 came tumbling down.

It's owner, Mission Broadcasting, decided to raze the tower because of it's condition.

Precision Communication literally pulled it down.  It collapsed just north of the old transmitter building at it's base.

Traffic was stopped on 41 while the demolition took place.  It took 25 seconds for the forty-year-old structure to tumble to the ground.
