Oil Drilling Equipment Has Arrived

ISU officials say they scheduled the start of the oil operation during winter break, to minimize the impact on students and staff. Horizontal drilling will be used to reach oil and gas beneath the campus. ISU's agreement with Pioneer Oil gives royalty payments of up to 15 percent for all products.
After nearly two years of planning, oil drilling is about to begin at Indiana State University.

Equipment is now on site near 10th and Chestnut, and drilling will start early in the week.
