North American Lighting to Hire 300 Workers

This is a major expansion for the 800-person company established in 1983.
New jobs are headed here to the Valley and they're coming in a major way.

Thursday North American Lighting, Inc. in Paris, IL announced they're looking to hire 300 people.
This is a major expansion for the 800-person company established in 1983.
This hiring boom will run through early 2015.

However, the company is committed to hiring 180 workers over the next four months.

North American Lighting, Inc. is considered one of the leading automotive lighting suppliers in the country.
The business creates more than 10,000 headlights a day.
In the Paris plant they produce for Toyota, Honda, Acura, Ford, and others.
Additional business from these companies is driving this hiring push.
The company is hiring for a wide-range of hourly and salary positions.    

The open jobs include operators, engineers, material handlers, technicians, as well as supervisors.
The company has seen growth year-to-year on a consistent basis since its creation.

"We've only had one layoff in our history and that was during the economic downturn in 2008-2009. Our market is stable, vehicles will be made for a long time," Greg Conrad,  North American Lighting Chief Operating Officer said.

The company will hire close to 15 people a week through March.
They plan on hosting job fairs in both Indiana and Illinois, dates for those have not yet been announced.
