Terre Haute Catholic Charities is campaigning to purchase a new facility near the Terre Haute International Airport.

That would  triple their capacity for food storage, refrigeration and food distribution.

Catholic Charities is able to provide more than 2.5 million 1bs. of food each year through their current facility. However, that only meets about 1/3 of the needs in the community.

That's why officials say a new facility would have a big impact on their operations.

"Something that we feel is a vital need within our community and that's increasing the capacity of our food bank, so that we can feed more people who are going through a tough time right now," said John Etling with Terre Haute Catholic Charities.

To find out how you can donate to the campaign and help them purchase the new facility, contact Terre Haute Catholic Charities at (812) 232-1447.
