Murder Investigation Continues in Daviess County

On Sunday night, a tip led police to Logan Evans, who was arrested for murder. Heaven Berry and Lucas Benjamin were also taken into custody for their connection to the shooting. Authorities say they're proud of the quick police work to get the suspects behind bars, but that doesn't lessen the loss.
Police are still looking into a shooting that killed one Daviess County teenager.

Devin Burris, 17, was killed early Friday morning near the Ebenezer Church in Washington.

On Sunday night, a tip led police to Logan Evans, who was arrested for murder.

Heaven Berry and Lucas Benjamin were also taken into custody for their connection to the shooting.

Berry is charged with providing assistance to another who commited the crime of murder, and Benjamin faces one count of conspiracy to commit murder.

Authorities say they're proud of the quick police work to get the suspects behind bars, but that doesn't lessen the loss.

"It's a tragedy to lose anybody, but when it's a kid that 17 years old that loses their life, it's pretty bad. It makes everybody feel bad. I'm sure for the families that is a horrible thing, to have to remember every year, this time of year that they lost their son. It's going to be a horrible thing for the family… for both families that were involved," said Washington Police Chief Mike Healy.

Police have not released any information about the events that led up to the shooting, but they do believe they have taken everyone who was involved into custody.
