A very wintery start to 2014 and the first snowfall of the year wasted no time getting here!
Snow today will taper off this morning and down to snow showers this afternoon. Accumulations look like 1"-3" south of I-70 and 2"-4" north of I-70. The wind will pick up today so some blowing/drifting snow is possible. The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7p.m. EST so use caution when traveling. High today of 23.
For tonight, watch out for blowing snow and scattered flurries. Very cold overnight low of 3 and subzero windchills are expected. Friday looks sunny and calm: 24 high/17 low, with breezy conditions again at night.
Saturday warms up to 36 but snow moves in Saturday night and Sunday. Accumulations likely but too early to make a call on how much just yet. Behind that, we are talking frigid temperatures with lows in single and negative double digits and highs just above 0. Could near records.
Looks to warm up some later next week and maybe even RAIN by the end of next week!
