Morning Weather: January 17, 2014

Unseasonably Cold & Occasionally Snowy
Colder and snowy weather is still around as we kick of the weekend.  A secondary cold front that has moved through the region overnight will continue to usher in colder air today with temperatures falling rather than rising.  High temperatures occurred early this morning around 20º, but much of the day is colder in the low-mid teens and wind chills near 0º.  Though some light, scattered snow showers are around this morning, most snow with this system is passed our area by the afternoon/evening.  Tonight is cold with lows around 10º.  Another cold front quickly sweeps across the region later tomorrow, bringing more accumulating snowfall.  Across the Valley, amounts will generally fall in the 1-3" range with some higher amounts to our northeast.  Snow tomorrow arrives by early afternoon and continues through early evening before coming to an end.  Highs tomorrow are up slightly around 30º.  Sunday is the nicest day of the weekend with highs in the mid 30s and sunshine/dry conditions returning.  A look ahead to next week shows another very cold pattern locking in for the Wabash Valley.
