After a very cold and occasionally wet weekend, we kick off this week staying on a frigid trend with temperatures well below average. Temperatures during the day today will remain steady in the mid 20s under mostly cloudy sky. Though we gain a drier and calmer day period, snow is possible as soon as tonight. Scattered snow showers will move through the region, providing some light snow mainly for our southern half. Any snow diminishes by tomorrow morning for another dry but cold day in the upper 20s. High pressure builds later this week making for a stretch of drier days and eventually somewhat warmer days with 30s by the weekend. Even with this slight warm up, we're below average as highs in the low 40s are seasonable. We'll have to keep an eye on the beginning of the weekend forecast as winter mix looks likely by late Friday.
