A Mattoon man is sentenced to time in federal prison on child pornography charges.
U.S. Attorney James Lewis says Joseph Hoult will serve almost 17 years in prison. He'll be on supervised release for the rest of his life following his release.
He was arrested in Alaska in 2012 and pleaded guilty to the charges in June 2013.
The child porn charges were investigated by several agencies including the Mattoon Police Department and the East Central Illinois Cyber Crimes Working Group.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to crack down on child exploitation.
