Linton couple facing felony child abuse charges

Michael Liechty and Bonnie Irvin are facing felony charges after an investigation by the Linton Police Department revealed ongoing child abuse.

A Linton couple is facing felony charges for alleged on-going child abuse.

Michael Liechty and Bonnie Irvin were arrested Friday and appeared in court Tuesday. They're facing several charges including neglect of a dependent, neglect of a dependent involving cruel confinement, and battery resulting in bodily injury to a victim less than 14 years old.

According to the Greene County Daily World Linton Police acted on a tip. The officers' investigation revealed the child had been strangled, beaten and confined in cold water.

The department of child services is involved in the investigation.

Liechty and Irvin are held in the Greene County Jail on $75,000 bond.
