Linton Couple Accused of Ongoing Child Abuse

Michael Liechty and Bonnie Irvin are each facing preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent resulting in injury, battery resulting in injury to a minor, neglect of a dependent/depriving dependent of necessary support, and neglect of a dependent/cruel confinement. The child has been taken to the Greene County General Hospital. The Department of Child Services is involved in the investigation.
A Linton couple is behind bars, accused of ongoing child abuse.

Michael Liechty and Bonnie Irvin are each facing preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent resulting in injury, battery resulting in injury to a minor, neglect of a dependent/depriving dependent of necessary support, and neglect of a dependent/cruel confinement.

According to the Greene County Daily World, Linton Police got a tip, and the officers' investigation later revealed that the child had been beaten and confined while being held in cold water -- and that it had been happening for several weeks.

Both suspects have admitted to causing those injuries.

The child has been taken to the Greene County General Hospital.

The Department of Child Services is involved in the investigation.
