Keith Ruble Recognized for Community Service

The contributions of a Vigo County man will long be remembered after the planting of a tree in his honor. The St. Joseph University Parish Justice Committee planted a Dogwood tree to honor Keith Ruble for his years of service to the community.

The St. Joseph University Parish Justice Committee planted a Dogwood tree to honor Keith Ruble for his years of service to the community.
The former Vigo County Parks Superintendent was honored at the Log Cabin Chapel, on the Sisters of Providence Grounds at Saint Mary of the Woods, that he helped build.
Ruble says Saint Mother Theodore Guerin played a role in the construction of the Log Cabin Chapel.

"When we got done putting the roof on we had one shingle left. When we put the stone down here, we got down to the end down there and got done with the sidewalk, we had one stone left. It's almost like the Sister was here trying...(laughter) It just came out perfect. I couldn't get over that."

Campus ministry at St. Joe's serves Indiana State University and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.                        
They also welcome students studying at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College and Ivy Tech.       
St. Joseph University Parish is located on South 5th Street in downtown Terre Haute.
