Hoosiers Hit the Hardwood for Valley Kids

It's a big football weekend in Indiana, but some hit the hardwood to help Valley kids in need.

The West Terre Haute Community Center and CASA hosted the Hoops 4 Kids tournament on Saturday.

Local firefighters, police officers, and other community members hit the court to help raise funds for the two groups.

The games brought in nearly $1,000, and those involved say it helped spark some friendly competition, and raise awareness for all that these organizations do.

"It's important for our community to know what people are doing out there for the children and become involved. As we all know it takes a village to raise a child, not just one person and we want to be part of that village, said Nikki Furhmeister, Vigo County CASA.
