Gov. Pence Declares Rail Safety Week in Indiana

Last year in Indiana, there were 106 collisions at crossings, killing 17 people and injuring 38 others. Nationally, the Hoosier State is ranked 4th for train crossing accidents. Officers and railroad special agents will be out monitoring railroad crossings all this week.
Governor Mike Pence has declared this Rail Safety Week.

It's to help raise awareness about the dangers of disregarding railroad crossing laws.

Last year in Indiana, there were 106 collisions at crossings, killing 17 people and injuring 38 others.

Indiana Rail Safety week runs Sunday, August 25 through Saturday, August 31.
