Give-a-Book Program

Kindergarten students at Deming Elementary School were each given a book that featured them as the star of the story. The alphabet, numbers one through twenty, basic shapes and basic colors are taught throughout the book with activities for each topic. Student's teacher will be named and their school or town in which they live is also in the text of the book.

Bart Colwell- President, Terre haute Savings Bank
"It's a lot easier to learn to read if you're passionate about what you're reading. When kindergarteners find their name, their school name, and their teacher's name in a book they can get pretty excited about that. So we hope it gets them off to a good start when it comes to reading."

The Terre Haute Savings Bank have been a sponsor of the Give-a-Book Program for the past twenty three years.
