Flu Season Underway in the Valley

Several local hospitals say they've seen an increase in patients with flu-like symptoms.
Flu season is officially underway.

It's already hitting people in the Valley hard.

Several local hospitals say they've seen an increase in patients with flu-like symptoms.

Other viral infections are spreading through the area too.

Health officials say if you haven't got you flu shot yet, there's still time to do so.

"Definitely not too late to get your flu shot, we recommend you still get it. It is worth your time, it's better than being sick. It does take about two weeks to go into full effect, but you definitely still have time to get the flu shot," Christina Keller, Health Educator at the Vigo County Health Department said.

The Vigo County Health Department has ordered a new shipment of flu shots.

They'll begin administering them starting Monday.

A shot costs $20.
