Valley Volunteers Earns Statewide Honor

Dr. Allen Lueking has been honored with the One Welfare Veterinary Service Award from the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association. It recognizes someone who's demonstrated "extraordinary care or service in improving the welfare of Indiana animals."
A Wabash Valley volunteer is getting statewide praise for his work with animals.

Dr. Allen Lueking has been honored with the One Welfare Veterinary Service Award from the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association.

It recognizes someone who's demonstrated "extraordinary care or service in improving the welfare of Indiana animals."

Lueking retired from this vet practice after 35 years, and four years ago, helped found the Humane Society of Sullivan County.

Since then, he's done over 3,000 spay/neuter surgeries on shelter animals, and helped save the lives of at least 7,000 animals.
